GameBoy Development for Sobriety
Inspired by the work of Serenity OS, this project will develop one or more GameBoy projects as an alternative to substance use/abuse.
Challenge Rules
These rules are not subject to changes that would loosen the challenge restrictions.
- Source code and progress must be publicly available.
- All projects must have an associated git repository.
-
Other resources may be studied, but generally no copy/pasting is allowed from outside projects.
Note: exceptions to this include hardware.inc, and other minimal hardware abstractions.
Tool use, such as gcc, RGBDS, aseprite, devkitARM, etc. are also allowed.
- LLMs may not be used to generate or debug code.
-
If a sobriety streak is broken, project progress is reset by adding a commit that deletes everything but the README.md.
Therefore, looking at git history is disallowed between these points.
- Projects must be GameBoy related (from original up to GBA); they can be software, hardware, or both.
Code is found on the git site.
